New Stuff

Man, whoever is in charge of this thing should really get to work! Oh wait.....that's me.

Sorry about that.

Lots of new developments since I last posted here. Lots of really fun shows with some really great bands. I just got back from a couple of out of town shows. Friday was my third time back in Iowa City and I already can't wait to go back! Thank you so much to all the awesome people who made that show happen!!! Saturday was my first time in Kirksville, MO. I know, I know. You're thinking "Where the hell is Kirksville?" Well, I'm bad with directions, but I know it's off of HWY 63. It's also a great place to play a show! Can't wait to go back.

More in the way of new developments....I'm joining the Emergency Umbrella Records crew! I'm in the process of recording and mixing for the late Spring/early Summer release of my EP, as well as the usual flow of new material. I've been trying to play more new stuff at shows, so if you're curious about where you can get recordings of songs heard at shows.....www.emergencyumbrella.com will be the place to check in the future.

Also, Das Kompilation is out and you can pick it up all over Columbia or at www.daskarnival.com. It's ten bucks and has twenty songs!

More to come....

Love,
Shannon

Saturday Shows

Thursday, August 10, 2006

I'll be playing a show at Ragtag with Jon Sheffield this Saturday, August 12th. He's done some amazing remixes of my songs and I'll be performing them live with him. I let him have his pick of the songs I've recorded, which are getting a little out of hand at this point. He ended up chosing some from the EP and some that have never been released or even played live before. I'm so excited to be able to join forces with someone as great as Jon, so please come out and see this!

I'll also be playing a BXR 102.3 sponsored show at Mojo's earlier in the evening. I'll go on around 9pm and Robinella will go on around 10:30.

Also, check out www.kevinsworld06.com for arm wrestling pictures and general bitchin' info. Kevin Walsh is about the coolest dude of the century. Go to his store and play putt-putt golf with him!

Love,
Shannon

More news than you can shake a stick at...

Sunday, July 30, 2006

Sssooooo....News, news, news. Busy bees, here in Columbia, Missouri. Geez.

I wanna say thanks to all the people who've been jamming to the bitchin' music video on You Tube and at various locations around town. Mr. Chase Thompson has made really great videos for quite a few local bands now and his moustache doesn't seem to be slowing him one bit. You can search under "A Toast to the Month of July" or under chaset4 on youtube.com.

Speaking of that song.....Jason Cafer's Painfully Midwestern Records (www.painfullymidwestern.com) has combined efforts with Das Karnival's Ian Cogneato to create a monster!!! It's called Das Kompilation and A Toast to the Month of July has been rerecorded to be the first track on the disc. I'll be playing a show at Kevin's World (www.kevinsworld06.com) this Saturday, August 5th which will also serve as a pre-release party. I'll be hosting my fourth all-girl arm wrestling contest after the show. Dudes are welcome to participate as cheerleaders. Drink beer and wear a muscle shirt.

If you can still use your arm after the carnage on Saturday, come on out to Eastside Tavern for a super-dance-party-show W/ John Bourke. www.myspace.com/johnbourke
"John Bourke's production work has been contracted out for vinyl, remixes,
nationally released mix CDs such as on DJ Micro’s “In Through The Output”,
production for Billboard Hot 100 artist Billie Ray Martin, movie soundtracks
such as The Matrix Trilogy, videogame sound tracks such as Final Fight:
Streetwise, co production for electro-rock group Shiny Toy Gun's
"Photograph" which appeared on Tommie Sunshine's XM radio chart. Bourke also
hosted Lifted Radio, a Friday night FM radio show in Oklahoma City as well
as held a residency at OKC’s Club Pure."

August 19th is the Pro-Choice/Pro-Fashion Show, which will be held in the old Maude Vintage space on Broadway. I'll be djing some booty hits during and after the show. C'mon out!

Also, the little gnomes who created my super svelte website have gotten all sophisticated n' shit and started a business. These nerds have really outdone themselves this time. www.clearpage.net

Ladies and Gentlemen.....The Rocky Mountains!
Well.....just got back from tour last Sunday. I want to say thankyouthankyouthankyou to all of the super awesome people that we had the privilege of meeting over the last month!!! There were so many people that went out of their way for us and I personally cannot wait to see you again! We played with some really phenomenal bands, got to explore some wonderful independently run art spaces where the love of their labor creates an opportunity for all kinds of people to hang out and create.

To all my CoMo homies: I totally missed you! OMG! WTF? But I will totally stop talking to every single one of you forever if you don't come to Eastside on the 14th and vote for me in the battle of the bands. Can you really afford this kind of loss? How will you live with yourself? Ok then. See you there.
